Choosing the right platform
Shopify is our usual recommendation for brands that want to focus on selling rather than maintaining software. It is hosted, secure and well supported, with a large app ecosystem. Monthly fees and transaction rules apply, and some customisations are limited.
WooCommerce runs on WordPress and gives you full control: your own hosting, your own data and almost unlimited flexibility, at the cost of more maintenance. It suits businesses with content-heavy sites or unusual product rules. Headless builds, where a custom front end sits on top of Shopify or an open-source engine such as Medusa, deliver the fastest pages and the most design freedom. They cost more to build and suit brands with larger catalogues or ambitious growth plans. We explain these trade-offs against your products, budget and team before recommending one.
Getting paid in every market
The payment page is where most online sales are won or lost, and buyers in different countries expect different options. In Nigeria, many customers prefer bank transfer or USSD to cards, and a store without those options loses sales. Paystack and Flutterwave cover cards, transfers, USSD and mobile money across Nigeria and much of Africa. In the UK, Europe and North America, shoppers expect cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and often buy-now-pay-later, which Stripe and PayPal handle well.
Many of our clients sell in more than one region, so we often set up both: local payment rails for African customers and Stripe for international orders, with prices shown in the right currency. We also configure the less visible parts, such as VAT for UK and EU sales, refunds, fraud checks and the reports your accountant will ask for.
Running the shop after launch
A good store saves your team time every day. We set up stock levels that update automatically, low-stock alerts, order confirmations and dispatch emails, and delivery zones with sensible rates. Where couriers offer an API, we connect it so labels and tracking numbers do not have to be typed by hand.
Social selling matters too, particularly in African markets where many sales start on Instagram or WhatsApp. We can connect your product catalogue to Meta's shopping features and set up shareable product links, so a conversation on WhatsApp can end with a proper checkout. After launch we review the analytics with you, look at where people abandon their baskets and make focused changes to lift sales. Small fixes to delivery costs, trust signals or form fields often do more than a redesign.

FAQ
E-commerce Development: your questions answered
Should we use Shopify or WooCommerce?
Shopify suits most brands that want a reliable, low-maintenance store. WooCommerce suits businesses that want full control and already run WordPress. We recommend one after looking at your products, budget and team.
Can we accept payments in naira and in pounds or dollars?
Yes. We commonly use Paystack or Flutterwave for naira and other African currencies alongside Stripe for international cards and wallets.
Can our customers pay by bank transfer?
Yes. Paystack and Flutterwave both support bank transfer and USSD payments in Nigeria, confirmed automatically, so your team does not have to check accounts manually.
Can you move our existing shop to a new platform?
Yes. We migrate products, customers and order history, and set up redirects from old product pages so you keep your search rankings.
Do you connect delivery and courier services?
Yes. We set up delivery zones and rates for each market and integrate couriers that offer an API, so labels and tracking are generated automatically.
