Data & AI

Know your numbers before the meeting, not after it

Most businesses already hold the data they need. It sits in spreadsheets, accounting software, a CRM and a payment gateway that never talk to each other. We pull it together, clean it and turn it into dashboards and forecasts your team will actually open on a Monday morning.

What we do

  1. 01

    Business intelligence dashboards

Power BI, Looker Studio or Tableau reports built around the questions your managers ask every week, with one agreed definition for each figure.

  2. 02

    Data pipelines and warehousing

Scheduled feeds from your sales, finance, stock and marketing systems into one tidy store, so reports refresh on their own instead of being rebuilt by hand.

  3. 03

    Forecasting and data science

Demand, cash flow and churn models you can explain to a board. We start with simple methods and only add complexity when it beats them on your own history.

  4. 04

    Reporting automation

The monthly pack that takes someone three days, rebuilt so it lands in inboxes on the first working day without anyone touching a spreadsheet.

  5. 05

    Data audits and clean-up

We find duplicates, gaps and conflicting records, fix what can be fixed and show you where bad data is coming from.

  6. 06

    Training for your team

Short, practical sessions so your staff can filter, drill down and build their own views without calling us.

Start with the decision, not the chart

A dashboard is only worth building if someone will change what they do because of it. So the first conversation is not about colours or chart types. We ask who makes which decisions, how often, and what they currently rely on. A sales director in Lagos checking regional targets needs something different from a finance team in London closing the month.

From there we agree a short list of measures and write down exactly how each one is calculated. This sounds dull. It is also the step that stops two departments arriving at a meeting with different revenue figures. Once the definitions are settled, the build itself is quick, and the reports stay trusted because the logic is written down and shared.

Forecasting you can defend

Data science has a habit of producing models nobody can explain. We take the opposite route. Every forecast starts with a plain baseline, such as last year adjusted for growth, and a more advanced model only replaces it if it does measurably better on months it has never seen.

You get the forecast, the error you should expect around it and a note on what would make it wrong: a price change, a new competitor, a currency swing. For businesses dealing in naira, cedis or shillings alongside dollars and pounds, we model currency effects separately so a weak month at the exchange desk does not look like a weak month in sales.

We also check models after launch. Each month the forecast is compared with what actually happened, and if the gap grows beyond the agreed range, we find out why before anyone relies on it again.

Built to survive the person who built it

Reports often die when the analyst who made them leaves. We document the data model, name things clearly and keep the logic inside the reporting tool rather than in a private spreadsheet. Your team gets training and a recorded walkthrough, and all workspaces, licences and data sources sit in your accounts from day one.

Access is set up with care. Row-level security means a regional manager in Abuja sees Abuja, a country lead in Nairobi sees Kenya, and the board sees everything. Sensitive figures such as salaries stay restricted, and every workspace has at least two administrators on your side so you are never locked out. When your needs change, adding a new data source or report is a small job, because the foundations were laid properly the first time.

What you get

  • A metrics dictionary agreeing what every number means
  • Live dashboards published to your Power BI, Looker Studio or Tableau workspace
  • Automated data refresh on a schedule you choose
  • Documented data model and source connections
  • Row-level access so each person sees only their own region or team
  • Forecast models with plain-English notes on accuracy and limits
  • A handover session and recorded walkthrough

Usual tools

Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Looker Studio, Tableau, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Python, pandas, scikit-learn, dbt, Excel. We choose tools for your requirements and your long-term running costs, not out of habit.

FAQ

Data Analytics & BI: your questions answered

Which tool should we use: Power BI, Looker Studio or Tableau?

If your business runs on Microsoft 365, Power BI is usually the natural fit and the cheapest per user. Looker Studio is free and works well with Google Analytics, Google Ads and BigQuery. Tableau suits teams that already own it. We recommend based on what you already pay for and who needs access.

Our data is messy. Is that a problem?

It is normal. Part of every project is a data audit that finds duplicates, gaps and conflicting records. We fix what we can in the pipeline and show you which upstream habits are causing the rest.

Can the dashboards update automatically?

Yes. We connect directly to your systems or a central database and set a refresh schedule, from daily to every few minutes depending on the source and your licence.

Do we need a data warehouse?

Not always. Small businesses with two or three sources can often report straight from them. Once you have several systems, or reports slow down, a warehouse such as BigQuery or PostgreSQL pays for itself.

Who owns the reports and data models?

You do. Everything is built in your own workspace and accounts, and the documentation is handed over with the project.
